why parents of highschool seniors and juniors 17 and 18 year olds dont trust their kids. i dont understand why any parent would try and snoop around their kids internet things like myspace and live journal to find out what they were up to and what their plans are. i think its rediculous for a girls mother to not let her have a myspace or check on it every day because of all the bad things that happen with it, the bad things only happen to dumb girls who go meet the gross rapist. not my friends! and most definetly not me! i think its pretty messed up that kids parents would sneak around the internet to find out what their kids are doing..ok so i already said that..but if we wanted to tell you and wanted you to know we would tell you! let kids be kids, let us mess up a few times. LIKE YOU DID. let us get in trouble, let us have fun. i know you parents are saying "we are just trying to protect you and keep you out of the trouble that i got into" but really how are we going to learn and grow up if we dont get to experience the stuff too? in 5 months me and all my friends will be going away to college. if our parents shelter us and keep us in so much this year, as us being seniors, how are we going to survive in college or in the real world. what happens if i go to my first party ever at college. (just an example) and because my parents never let me experience parties, or alcohol i dont know how much i can handle. and something bad happens like alcohol poisoning or i got raped, becuase i didnt know how much was to much for me what if i even died!...then what...how do you think you would feel if that happened to your daughter or even your son? parents need to chill out and stop snooping through their kids lives, if we want to talk we will. and when we get in trouble we will say you were right, but we wont know unless it happens.
prom is in a couple months, my group wants to rent a cabin in seashore for the night. a few of the moms are alittle skeptical of this becuase you know there could be alcohol there, and boys and girls are spending the night together..dont worry moms..we arent going to have sex in front of 8 other people! and you know what..if there is alcohol there, so what you drank when you were in highschool. I KNOW YOU DID. dont you think it would be better if you knew what your kids were doing, if they werent sneaking around, shoulder tapping to get beer, using a fake id. wouldnt it be better if you just listened to your kids and understood them...
i havent gotten in trouble..so dont think thats what this is about..but this morning i was trying to get on the interent and for some reason mine..i use netscape..wouldnt work. so i went on my moms desktop to use hers..no big deal right? well i wanted to check my myspace news..and when i started to type in www.myspace.com it popped up in the search bar before i could finish typing it..so i got curious and looking in the search bar for anything else that might look familar. and what do i find...livejournal and mysapce...and ph2k6 typed in there..so i clicked on the livejournal link and then went to search, my name was already programed into the search section, on my moms desk top. meaning she reads this..or has read it before..SO HERE YOU GO MOM! HERES HOW I FEEL.
im not sure if you are able to read my myspace and i hope you arent, because even though i am a good kid and dont do many bad things..i know that therew ould be something on there to dissapoint you..
the internet is a bad place for kids..just think of how it will be when im a parent and my 9 year old is browsing the internet. i am 18 years old, getting ready to go to college, a little freedom would be nice..so this is for you mom and me knowing how you do...the trust is gone..
