(no subject)
I really hate Mondays. Sucks the fun out of my whole week. Today at work was interesting.
It consisted of:
1). Being really, really busy. Me & my sister had 7 patients in 3 and half hours. Thanks, Mona! I really don't like her all that much. She talks to me like I'm six years old.
2.) One lady came in and has severe anxiety when coming to the dentist. I was in the room alone with her, and she told me her story about how when she was young, the dentist used to slap kids if they cried. And since her parents were really old friends with him, she felt like if she told them, they wouldn't believe her. She used up so much nitrous gas, and had a stress ball in each hand, and every once in a while she would need to stop and take huge huffs of the gas. I would hate to see her get a root canal or her wisdom teeth out.
3.) This 16 or 17 year old girl that came in last time to get x-rays, but stopped us to tell her she was...uhh pregnant, came back in to get one of her four cavities filled. Before I could get her into the room she had to hug and kiss her white gangster-ish baby daddy. I put in the stuff to pre-numb her and she says "so the doctor, or the dentist, ya know the head dude, he's gonna numb me?" People are smarter than I give them credit for.
4.) Latex gloves galore. My sister buys bubblegum scented or grape. The grape gives me a headache.
5.) I'm really getting the hang of everything.
6.) A mean old lady came in first thing. She couldn't lay all the way down? So we had to work on her standing up. Something with her childhood too?
7.) I saw 2 people that go to Red Mountain getting their teeth cleaned, but neither really saw me, or know who I am I think.
8.) Kristol is my favorite one out of all of them. She really knows how to make people feel comfortable, which is something I have yet to master.
9.) I think my sister's "patient" voice is hilarious.
10.) Jaimie mumbles too much, and talks to herself too much. I just smile and nod.
11.) Teeth are weird. Too bad I'll be look at them for awhile!
