big storms and bus rides!!
Whooo hooo!!! School was called off today after the 4th hour because apparently we are excpecting a storm of HUGE proportions. At least thats what I got out of it. :S Well, it has been pouring rain all day and I guess that this afternoon it is supposed to start with really really strong winds and so on. Anyway, no school is always a plus in my book. =)
Today the bus was HORRIBLE!!! So since school got out early, everyone like in the entire school basically sprinted out to the bus stop to get on the first bus into the city. Well, it just happens that my school has over 2,000 students. A bus comes every 30 minutes but EVERYONE HAD TO get on the FIRST bus(I admit that I also attempted to get on but after 2 failed attemps I gave up). It was a bus with 2 parts, so a relatively big bus and the sign said maximum capacity was 150 passengers. There were people on top of people, three people to one seat, no room to breathe, there was absolutely no standing room left, I don't think ONE more single person could've possibly fit on that bus. There were well over the amount of people from my entire old high school in Illinois on ONE bus. Defeated, I decided to wait for the next bus. By the time, the bus driver stopped yelling and got the doors closed, the next TWO busses were already behind it waiting...that's how far behind it was. Craziness.
Tonight, weather permitting, if everything isn't gone from this massive storm, my class and I are going to Braunschweig to see an opera. It is in the Braunschweig StadtTheater, which is one of the oldest theaters in Europe, it is almost 300 years old. We are going to see a Czech opera, I'm not sure on the name or composer, I will post details about the opera in my next entry.
