well i know that it has been a while since I have updated... I guess the main reason I haven't been updating lately is that life is just sooooo normal for me now here, and it is just weird to write everything that i do. School is going ok, it's still boring, but bareable. Friends are great, I love them. Family is awesome, I love them. City is fun, I love it. Life is good. This weekend I went to a soccer game at the VFL Stadium in Wolfsburg against Schalke who is the number one team in Germany right now. We tied!! Manuel(from Mexico), Douglas(from South Africa), my host mom, manuel's host father, and douglas's host brother were in the VIP Lounge... which let me tell you, was an experience in itself. =)
Then Saturday night I went with Steph, Manuel, Douglas, Jay, and my friends from school, Marci, Merima, and Gela to a bar. It was really fun and cool to hang out with my exchange friends and my german friends at the same time. =) Steph, Manuel, and Douglas stayed the night at my house. We took a taxi home at about 3:30. Then we got to my house and had the same problem we always have, we can't get to sleep because we talk too much. So around 4:30, 5:00 we finally fell asleep. That morning I was up at 9:30 along with Stephanie and Douglas. It's just like a rule here...it doesn't matter what you do the night before, but you will be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the family breakfast the next morning. Ok, maybe not bright eyed and bushy tailed, but at least there. Well, Manuel would not budge. So my host brother took his saxophone into my room in an attempt to wake him. haha. Good times.
Yesterday my Rotary club had a meeting. It wasn't a normal meeting, it was in the Islamic Cultural Center. It was very interesting. We had a tour of the center, got to go in the main part of the Mosque and take our shoes off and we got to go into the part of the Mosque that only men are allowed to go into. My groups tour guide was a girl, not much older than myself. She has lived in Germany her entire life and actually had to be taught Arabic in the school when she was younger. She also speaks almost perfect English, I was very impressed by her. Then we all had a meal together, it was salad, couzcouz(don't know how to spell it), meat, potatoes, and bread. pretty normal.........
This weekend I'm really excited because 3 other exchange students from my district are coming here to Wolfsburg for the weekend! I hope I can show them a good old wolfsburg time. =) Next weekend we have another Rotex weekend, that should be fun, like always. The weekend after that my friends Bex and Jessica are coming here to visit me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOOO excited about that!! And the weekend after that is our EUROPATOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow...it's all that my friends here and i can think of! =) =)
