Where do I even begin?

I love a lot of things. A lot of things. I’m just one big walking soft spot for the right film or T.V. show. Bring up anything I consider good and I’ll be all swoons and smiles, there’s no getting around it. Luckily, my fangirlish heart is big enough to embrace everything I throw at it. None of these interests are ( Read more... )

I had no problems with season six. How else do you go on after an arc that lasted five seasons? Season six was all about aftermath and the consequences that come with something as absolutely epic as what happened at the end of season five. Sam's storyline broke my heart, Dean's storyline broke my heart, their relationship story broke my heart, the civil war was a brilliant idea, Crowley is amazing, they built on Castiel's character and gave him one hell of a story, what more could anyone ask for?

Speaking of Cas, people are freaking out over what they've done with his character, but really what else would happen? He had good intentions from the start, and we all know what road that paves. He's most definitely not himself anymore, just like how Sam wasn't himself in the beginning of the season. External circumstances forced a change that was out of their control. It's fucking tragic, and seriously great television. I love Cas, but I'm not gonna flip my shit if he's not kept safe and perfect and happy because 1. That's boring and 2. It makes for crap t.v.

Ehehe, didn't mean to ramble on like that. ::sheepish::

Of course I still love the show (true love forever, me and SPN) I just felt like season 6 as a whole wasn't on par with past seasons. Usually I love about every episode in a season, with a few (almost none)'meh' episodes scattered in there. With this season I felt like it was reversed, with most of the episodes being just okay, with a few really amazing ones...idk, if I had to list specific problems I'd say there seemed to be plots that started up and then basically fell by the wayside, and sometimes the characterization seemed off (which may be due to the bunch of new writers they had on?). That's why I'm hoping season 7 will somehow wrap some of this up for me.

Anyway, I do think Cas's storyline totally makes sense for his character and it's a really fascinating route to take with him, I just worry how it will be handled and if due consideration will be given to his and Sam and Dean's characters and their friendship. If Kripke were still in charge I probably wouldn't be as concerned. But Sera Gamble... and then how this season has gone as a whole... I just feel anxious, and totally not just for Cas, but for Sam and Dean too.

Anyway, sorry for rambling and starting such a complicated discussion (and this was me being brief, I have so many thoughts)!! I just had to ask you about season 6. It actually makes me feel better to see that some people really liked it; and it makes me more eager than scared to see 7:) So thank you.

P.S. I forgot to comment before that I started watching Suits and it's fun!
