**This is not a political post. It's a post about gay equality that happens to involve a politician. Big difference.**
When it comes to the nuts and bolts of how to run a government, I'll be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about what's best for the country. Really, the only people who do know have degrees in Government and Political Science, and hell if I'll ever claim to know more than they do.
So, whatever mistakes Obama may or may not be making in office, it's not a priority for me. All presidents fuck up. All presidents are politicians. When it comes to a president, what really matters to me is where they stand on personal freedom and equal rights. Not only does it directly effect my life, but it's also a strong indicator as to the President's open mind and how he might approach other issues. This is why I will never not love Obama.
Obama declares June 2011 LGBT Pride Month Wherever you stand on Obama's job so far, we can at least come together and declare FUCK YEAH for the President of the United States doing so much for the LGBT community. This is nothing short of truly inspiring.
Also, I've never been happier to have my birthday in the middle of June. XD
