I love getting 2 hour visits at work from a fabulous friend i haven't seen since summer.
and I love talking online and feeling appreciated and trying to give "advice" to that one friend while i try to take it as advice to myself as well. and I love getting phonecalls at 11:30 p.m. from a person i would never expect to call me just to wish me a happy thanksgiving. and i love knowing that even if i'm down, and things aren't always going my way, at least one of them will be there for me.
anyhow, today was good. half days at school are always grand because classes are way shorter and i get home earlier, of course. except, i wasn't used to the parking lot being like that. it was majorly hectic and jammed and took a good 5 minutes to get out with the stop light and all.
when i got home i decided to clean my car, after MONTHS of procrastination. it's freshly vacuumed and wiped down now. hooray. then i cleaned my room...boo! double whammy.
then let's see, i went to work. wow, tonight had to be THE SLOWEST night ever recorded at the portsmouth ymca. nobody came, at all. very very slack. i worked with the new guard, jevon. he seems cool..i got to show him around and explain how stuff is done and whatnot, which was kind of odd since he's 24 and there aren't many guards older than me like that. i'm used to working with youngins like myself. but he was nice. he had lots of good stories to tell coming from west palm beach...and it was funny hearing him say nor-FOLK and ports-MOUTH. haha. and he lives on a boat with his dog....neato.
oh yeah but you know what made work worthwhile tonight? that's right, you guessed it. adam's visit. he's the coolest. and he hung out there for a good 2 1/2 hours so we got to catch up and it was almost like old times in the good old guard office.
i think that's it...
have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone. enjoy your four day weekend. i know i will!
