At Starbucks here, they have this wonderful concoction of hot chocolate with caramel. Now, maybe its new and they have this back home now, but if its only a British thing, that needs to be remedied. This is waking me up for my theatre performance tonight.

Today was an interesting day at the internship. . . I subbed press releases for an hour, ran errands for 15 minutes, then came back and left the office for the afternoon. Instead of spending the afternoon writing, Janet had me take my hour lunch break, then go around London to various concerthalls and museums to pick up their brochures for the coming month.

I don't know if there is a better way of seeing the city. My first two stops were on Oxford Street and PIcadilly, so I ended up walking the length of Bond Street, which is always something to be enjoyed. Then I took the tube to Charing Cross, where I hit up St. Martins-in-field (right in Trafalgar Square) and then walked across the Thames to Queen Elizabeth II Hall. From there I ended up on the Northern line for 45 minutes in an attempt to get to St. Lukes in Islington. When I finally found it, I couldn't figure out how to get in, and so I went back to the tube and went to the Barbican. Then I went to South Kensington (about a half hour on the circle line from where I was) to the Royal Albert Hall, and then, finally, defeated by the tourists on the tube, I called it a day. I have three places to go tomorrow (four if you count St. Lukes), and two I will do on my way to work. Not a bad days work, but I'm exhausted.

Now tonight I'm going to see Harold Pinter's "The Dumb Waiter" to write a review for the magazine. Should be fun, but I needed to go get Starbucks to keep me awake.

It's hard to believe I've been here 3-1/2 weeks. Somedays it feels like I had no life prior to London, and at other times it hits me that I'm in London and I can't help but think how the heck did I end up here? It's been an overwhelmingly positive experience, but it just seems so unreal.
