Recovering from the 4th
I'm still tired after the activity of the last few days even though I slept 12 hours last night. Where did my stamina go?
I mostly spent my energy decorating cars, hanging out with the Red Hats, worrying about my friend who had a close call with taking too much insulin, creating a list online for our Red Hat chapter (aptly named the Wilder Women), being in the parade, undecorating cars, and other assorted stuff.
The problem with being in the parade is that you don't get to see the parade. I really wanted to see the Lumberjack Drill Team do their thing and throw their axes. Oh well. I rode shotgun in the '69 Ford Galaxie:
Our group had two convertibles and a truck plus the banner and a rendition of long-ago resident Lily the Cat lady who was recognized by many of the folks in town. We won first place for Decorated Vehicle. We've won a first place or grand prize 3 out of the last four years. The other year we got second in something or other.
It was fun but exhausting.
I may take a nap now.
