Tattoo

Let me know if this is off-topic, and I'll delete the post. Otherwise, I'm looking for a little assistance.

And, no, it does not even remotely resemble "I want a visa," "I'm doing BUNAC," or "I can't look up flights myself." Shocking, isn't it?

Anyway...

I'm getting some new ink. Specifically, the Red Lion. Lion Passant. "Lion something or other Rampant," as my friend initially termed it. Whatever you choose to call him, I'm sure you've seen him. I'm looking for the perfect balance of simplicity and detail - nothing garish, but just enough to make it a sweet tat. He'll also need to be fairly small because I'm going to get him on my left hand, in the fleshy area between the index finger and thumb. But, size doesn't matter becuase I, or my guy, can resize it accordingly.

This is the closest I've come to perfect. Only, smaller and colored in red. I'll crop and resize it myself before taking it to my tattoo artist. I like it because it's more heraldric. More impressive. The detail is just right, goldilocks.

(Edited to add...)

Another alternative than the one above. Minus the crown, though. Oi. Decisions.

The reason I'm posting this is to ask if anyone has any better images. I'd be rather indebted, if anyone happens to have something better, or even if anyone has any advice/background/history about him. The best part about ink is the story behind it, so give me whatever you've got. (My side starts with the fact that I'm a dual national, and that my heritage is a big part of who I am.)

Thanks,

Jenn
