No benefits - now what?
In this climate we're all finding ourselves in just now, I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to.
I'm in the UK on a spousal visa - just approved this year (June). I'm currently working a full-time position in a small company. My visa doesn't allow me "public benefits" such as unemployment at this time. If something were to happen, getting laid off, company going under, etc. What are my options (if any)? I've asked around and tried phoning and am getting nowhere. There obviously is the possibility that nothing will happen and I'll be able to keep my job during this mess that we're all in but I'm concerned about my options if I do suddenly become unemployed for a reason that is not my fault.
Suggestions?
