Mailing Pharmaceutical Drugs

In the UK I used to use Buscopan, a medication for IBS. In the UK it is sold on open shelves in super markets. The active ingredient is butylscopolamine, which is not a pain killer or narcotic. Here in the US it's prescription-only.

Unfortunately I forgot to ask my boyfriend to bring a few packets when he came over. I have no insurance so getting a prescription would set me back at the very least $100. On the other hand, if he just mails me a packet that will last me a month or two, that will cost a couple of quid.

So the obvious question is: Would it be illegal for my boyfriend to send me a packet in the mail? Where can I find out more?

postage, health
