Info factor: I like the way the multi-cultural/mixed-gender nature of this ensemble is pictured on the disk - but no tracks listed on disk.

I've never understood the Highly Skilled Migrant visa. I work in recruitment and have seen quite a few people come over on this visa and yet all they apply for Warehouse/Picking & Packing work...

Well jeebus! How do I get that one?! Sounds easier than the spousal visa and then my fiance and I can actually live together for a while!

That will probably be ending with the new requirements from last year that one *re*qualify for LTR. In the past, if you got clearance via HSMP, you didn't have to be making a mint once you arrived, just support yourself without access to public funds.

Now to qualify for LTR, you have to tot up the points all over again, the same way you did when you applied. So you either have to have bucketloads of academic qualifications and be very young, or you have to be earning pots of money since your arrival in the UK.

I'm not happy about it, since if I move I will be going freelance, and it may take more than two years for me to build up to that level of earning, but I can hardly complain. The point of the program is to let in people who are *highly* skilled and going to contribute substantially to the UK. If I can't meet that bar, it's a fair cop and I should leave.
