We'll be coming across to the US for a holiday in May, flying into Atlanta and out of Baltimore, and hiring a car to travel in between. I was wondering - in the UK, we have a handy little booklet called the "Highway Code" that lays out all the rules of the road, with friendly diagrams. Is there any equivalent for the USA that I could get from Amazon or somewhere in advance? My husband says there can't be because each state has its own laws and you have to absorb them from a sign as you drive through each border, but that seems rather unlikely. Surely there's some sort of reference manual for people learning to drive, or something?
