Why Anonymous Is Picketing The "Church" Of $cientology.

Feb 15, 2008 13:55

Why? Because.

For Lisa McPherson. Always.

For Paulette Cooper.

For Tory "Magoo" Christman.

For Arnie Lerma.

For savemysonlady.

For Stacy Moxon Meyer.

For Ashlee Shanner.
See "Gold Base" article here.

For Mary Johnson.

For Vickki Ford Cook and her son.

For Jane Scott and Graham Berry.

For Amanda Keller, and her father, Steve, and her brother, Ben.

For Kyle Thomas Brennan.

For John Duignan.

For "Mr Safe"...missing and presumed dead.

For this poor soul.

It is for a younger me, who they tried to recruit when I was down on my luck and (they thought) emotionally vulnerable. They did not appreciate me laughing in their faces. I merely got lucky.

It is for former Allstate employees who were trained with Co$ methods.

It is for hundreds of thousands scammed out of every last cent, and convinced that they were at fault for not becoming enlightened, not the "church."

It is for those who need friends and think they have found them, only to find their "church" "friends" are fair-weather friends at best.

It is for those the "church" denied needed medications for physical and mental ailments, and who suffered because of lack of adequate medical supervision and care.

It is for those who have been named Suppressive Persons and who have lost loved ones to the cult.

It is because of attempts to steal and/or alter government records, to bug offices and private homes, to subvert and bully search engines or redirect attention to dummy sites rather than informational ones, to post hundreds of thousands of "sporgeries" to alt.religion.scientology and to harass others online and off.

It is because the whole "top secret" OTVII (Warning! Operating Thetan level 8 secret information!) Xenu thing is, in a word, ridiculous. (Invisible murdered space alien ghost cooties infesting your body and thus keeping you from being a god unless you grab two tin cans and submit to being repeatedly electroshocked and telling nasty cultists all your juicy, personal, blackmail-worthy secrets? Shyeah, right.)

It is because the "church" enjoys digging in its deep pockets and suing to silence critics, not to win.

It is because Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Mexico, and the United Kingdom refuse to recognize Scientology as a religion...with good reason.

It is because "if even a quarter of what Anonymous has said is true, then Scientology is a detriment to society".

It is because "Elron" was a deeply deluded, racist, sexist, money-grubbing hack writer whose only true accomplishment was setting out to create a "church" specifically to gain power over and bilk money out of the gullible and desperate.

It is to make amends for the times I could have spoken up more, but was afraid to do so, because I knew how ugly and vicious the Co$ can be to those who dare to criticize it.

It is why we weep, and get angry, and seek to educate ourselves further on the subject. It is for making Anonymous cry. Anonymous does not cry. Except when Anonymous does.

It is for them: FairGamed.org

It is also for them: Why Are They Dead.Net

For those unfortunates sentenced to Scientology's "Rehabilitation Project Force".

It is a way to stand up for human dignity and human rights.

It is a way to try to right a great wrong.

It is for the lies.

It is for destroying lives.

It is for invading the entertainment industry and pandering to celebrities, many of whom have no idea how bad things get for "the little people" in the "church."

It is for you.

This is why.

This is why.

This is why.

It will always be why.

As for me?

I am proud of Anonymous.
I support Anonymous' efforts.
I believe this particular protest movement is for a worthy cause.

I have more to say, but I'm a bit drained at the moment. Funny how that seems to happen each time I spend more than a few minutes reading the personal accounts of those who had their lives nearly destroyed by the "church".

Or the obituaries and testimonials in honor of those who no longer have any lives to ruin.
