More Fun With Hovel House

Sep 14, 2007 09:42

I have two buttcracks of varied hues being proudly displayed in my kitchen right now.

The kitchen sink is leaking. The U-bend pipe rusted through.

It wasn't the fridge being cranky, it was the flipping sink.

I am Jack's complete and total lack of surprise.

The ferret is going ballistic, wants to either play with or bite the intruders.

I have no idea if or how this relates to the house being smited (smitten?) by lightning. I suspect it has nothing to do with it, it is just bad timing.

If bad things come in threes, I hope number three was repairing one of the ramps in Mr Woozle's cage. He'd managed to loosen one of them. Normally I'd have to take the entire cage condo apart to fix it, but I think I found an alternative way. As long as he doesn't get injured or sick, I'll take the minor inconvenience of ferret-driven condo remodeling tasks.

Of course, the "bad things come in threes" bit is just superstition anyway. Humans look for patterns to explain random misfortunes. And sure, if you wait long enough, three bad things will always happen, sooner or later.

Stupid house. If it has to keep breaking, i wish it would stick to breaking cheap stuff or breaking things I know how to repair. I don't do pipes or wires. I've installed toilets (not my favourite job), fixed cranky dishwashers, unfarkled computers, unclogged things and patched things, but TV repair is beyond me.

What would happen if I tried my hand at repairing a major appliance, as demonstrated by a total stranger's Sims characters:

FIGURE A: The Dishwasher Strikes Back. ZORCH!

FIGURE B: Regret and despair. YOUCH.

Yeah. Bad plan.

And the plumbers are gone, the pipe is fixed, the kitchen is no longer a swimming pool, and the ferret is miffed that he didn't get to bite anyone new.

How I actually plan to deal with any future home repair horrors:

FIGURE C: Bring on the boozahol, I've had it.

sims2, poverty, dead appliances. plumbers, frustration
