i was thinking earlier today about some things...why do friends grow apart? ppl who you were best friends with in second grade are not your best friends today (in most cases). I know the whole thing about people changing and growing in separate directions and yada yada, but even people who you were friends with a year ago can become someone that you barely even talk to. Granted it may be your fault that the split happened, but sometimes it's a mutual thing. A lot of this splitting up has to do with jealousy, i think. In my experience with growing apart from friends, it has been envy of a new friend or being replaced that has always been a factor in the breakup or big fight. When someone is presented with new people and places and things around them, they often forget about the old, reliable, and important people that were with them through everything. Forgetting little things like a call here or a visit there is where it starts. Then comes forgetting birthdays,, anniversaries, and important things friends should remember. I guess people are just not always meant to be friends forever..i dunno. I read something that one of my not-so-close-anymore-but-wish-they-were friends wrote that God just doesn't have it in his plan for you and that person or those people to be close forever. Some people do last the test of time and changing, but i guess others do not. I wish they did...
