Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaan! Don't despair! Sammeh will save you!

Okay, now that that's out, reactions in a slightly more chronological fashion.

Canon reference to donkeyshow ... uh ... I don't even know what to do about that.

Dean seeing SAM all scaryfacehallucination was AWFUL. God. So much worse than if every single other person he saw was scaryface.

In a lot of ways I was satisfied with the writing in this episode. When it sometimes started to veer in unfortunate directions, they were good about promptly deflating the cliches.

I LOVED the boys singing along in the car. Such BROTHERS. I could see them doing that as kids all the time. God. So good it was heartbreaking, and that was when I thought, "Crap, this is so light-hearted. The end of the episode is going to be dark as fuck, isn't it?"

SAM. ALL WILLING TO BE EVIL. NGGGGH. WHY DIDN'T YOU GET WITH THE PROGRAM EARLIER? Seeing him all desperate at the end was great/painful, though.
And Sam almost knifed a ten-year-old!

GAH. So. They showed us Dean getting ripped into little pieces and Sam watching. Um. I generally go by the lessons of Jaws and say "Never show us the shark" but that was pretty upsetting to watch, so I think I'm cool with it.

On the other hand, actually showing us hell? In this it was worth it just to have that moment of Dean calling out for Sam - that was really good. But if they continue actually showing it it's going to get cheesy really fast.
Meat hooks. Um. Ew.

Sam is harder to explode than an entire police station! *cheers*

So, we're getting Sammy!powers in season 4, eh? Well, I look forward to it.
I wonder how quickly we'll get Dean back and out of hell.
God I want badass!Sam.
Stupid hiatus. PEOPLE. WRITE BRILLIANT HIATUS FIC. KPLZTHX.

What happened to Bobby at the end of that episode?

Another question: how the HELL did it take them that long and an explicit statement from Ruby to figure out that Lilith's afraid of Sam?

But just ... just ... we know it was coming, we've known for a year, but seeing Dean die was still so raw. That HURT. And seeing him call for Sam! Aaaaaah!!!!!
And Sam having to watch! Aaaaaaah!!!!!

Nnnnnh! Boys! I was very caught up in the tension, so I'm going to have to go back and rewatch for a lot of details.

Thoughts? Sharing of trauma? A stiff drink, since I could really use one? A surprise announcement that the new season starts in June instead of September?

episodic fucking trauma
