Very important questions

Has there ever been an SPN vid set to "Shoop?" If not, WHY NOT? It's an entire song about fandom-esque coveting of hot men! It even has a crack about bowlegs! Or am I the only person that nostalgic about the early 90s?

*This post brought to you by the rediscovery of a very old mix CD.

There was a multifandom vid set to this song many, many years ago (in the videotape era!) and I loved it. An SPN version would be completely adorable!

The idea of pre-internet fanvids just blew my mind a little. Props to everyone and anyone who went through the kind of editing that must have been necessary!

Wouldn't it be fabulous? IT EVEN REFERENCES VOODOO. IT'S MEANT TO BE.

Haha, I know. I tried once to make a vid with VCRs. Oh, no, a whole world of no!

Funny enough, people were still making vids with two VCRs for like six or seven years AFTER fandom moved to the internet.

Well, no, like, video editing software didn't exist yet. I made my first vid on Final Cut Pro version 1.0 in 2000. I contributed to the first-ever full frame rate computer vid in 1999. (There had been one other fannish vid by then, but it was at 15 frames per second.) Internet fandom was well established by then. Desktop video editing software didn't become available and generally used by fans until 2002, and not common until 2003-2004.

Don't delete, it's interesting!

This has been on my mind recently b/c I'm doing a 16mm class and having to do painstaking editing-by-hand for the first time, which is, uh, very very different for me, as I've never *not* had access to digital equipment & FCP.
