Great story: you really capture what it feels like to be a teenager, when everything is new, when everything seems both infinitely possible and not at all. I really like your Sam here - I found particularly poignant the part where she wishes she were born a boy, because everything would be different (when we know it wasn't).

I like Dean, too, through this Sam's eyes, gallant and annoying and alluring, both brother and stranger in one.

Man, this was good! I really liked it a lot.

That was utterly beautiful. I love that Sam's thinking about how different her life would be as a boy when we all know that it won't be. I don't even think Dean's level of overprotective would be different. And I truly, madly, deeply adore it. ♥♥

Your writing always reads so easy even though it's never simple. I don't know if that even makes sense but I always, always devour your fics the quickest and they're still the deepest, most poignant ones around. :)

I think you should give yourself some credit for it! You're definitely the one who got me thinking about girl!Sam.
And I think Dean's baseline level of overprotective is high enough that it's like. Tough to top.
