Kennywood, a night out, and a girl...
Man...what a day. Best day I've had in recent memory.
Most of it (11am-10pm) was spent at Kennywood with Craig, his girlfriend, and their friends, including Kristin, a girl who Vickie (Craig's girlfriend) has apparently been trying to set me up with for a while now - ever since Craig first started talking to her about me. She goes to Pitt, is going to be a junior in the fall (same as me)...I was kind of skeptical about the whole setup thing, but to be honest, I do really like this girl. This could be very interesting...in a very good way.
Kennywood was awesome...rode every roller coaster and water ride in the damned place, some twice...Kristin and I got completely soaked in the Raging Rapids and on the Pittsburg Plunge...and I had to drag her bodily onto the Pitt Fall..though she eventually decided to go for it once an 8-year-old girl who had just gotten off the ride looked at her and called her a chicken. Good times. Rode it again, too. And we rode the Phantom's Revenge twice...I miss the loops, but it's still a great coaster.
I met Kristin briefly, in the dark, at the drive-in last night, but we didn't really talk much..at all. Today, though, we spent the whole day together, and actually after we got back from Kennywood, we decided to go home, shower, change, and meet back up to chill more. So the 4 of us (Craig, Vic, Kristin, and me) went out to Hemingways for some half-price food, and then we went to Frick Park and just chilled...Kristin and I must have spent half an hour or more just lying on benches and talking about all kinds of inane shit...she's really awesome. I went into this whole setup thing with a grain of salt, but all through the day at Kennywood, and definitely once we got some more mellow time tonight, I definitely found myself very attracted to her in my own right..and she apparently told Vickie (who told Craig, who told me) that she's just as interested. So...yeah. Nothing definite yet, but I did get her phone number, her school phone number, her IM, and her email address, and I plan to use them. I'm going to ask this girl out. =) I'm really stoked. This is exactly the sort of situation I wanted to find myself in this summer...I decided I was done with the whole short-term hooking-up thing, and that I wanted someone completely new that I could really develop and turn into something really great. Keep in mind that Candice was the last real relationship I was in, and that was the better part of a year ago. Now I really do have someone new...possibly. Craig also told me she's all about taking things kinda slow, since she just finished something rather major...but it's all good. That's exactly my idea. And so far I seem to have made all the right moves. I'll call her sometime this week, definitely before I leave for Canada.
Anyways, time to sign off...it's 4 am, and I'm really tired....and feeling absolutely on cloud nine. What a great day.
Tomorrow. it's a nice calm relaxing day of reading my books, and then in the evening, The Day The Earth Stood Still at the Regent Square Theater.
