Most of the music composed after the turn of the century I'm finding is not music. It's extremely creepy screeching on violins that sounds like rats running around in a horror movie. Blast Chernov for giving us this satanic listening assignment. Blast George Crumb for writing "Black Angels" especially. Ugh.

i warned you, did i not? yuck. i hate 20th century music that doesn't sound like music. barber is ok, though--i had to write my analysis paper on him and it was ok. :o) good luck on exams!
