I'm finding that the AIM chat room has been a key factor in my problems with anxiety and sudden mood swings. I'm not entirely certain if there is one solid reason for it, but it's also lately been filling up more and more with a steady stream of drama or personal problems. Sharing problems with friends is good therapy, but when you have 6 or 7 people in a chat room everyday, eventually that is all you ever hear.

Day in and out, I get online and listen to my friends complain about one thing or another. I love helping them, but the more I try, the more problems I have to deal with; my own, theirs, and just adding unnecessary stress.
If it's once in a while, it's fine. Life is full of problems and trials, and we should be there for each other, but lately, it just seems to be the same problems resurfacing and dragging on. To vent is one thing, but there are better ways sometimes.
Talk about happy things, or share something you enjoy, it will make you feel better. But to constantly bombard your friends with all that ails you, without a single ray of hope, you can only support them for so long.

I love all my friends, but now I'm only being snippy or downright blunt with them when they complain to me. I don't have the patience to deal with the problems of others anymore. Maybe I'm being selfish, but I'm just going to have to turn my back on it for a while to rebuild my own strength and self confidence before I can deal with it again.
I'm not angry with anyone, and I'm not in a bad mood. But I don't want to get to a point where all I am is a bitter and sad person and nothing more. I'm trying to prevent myself from getting to that point again.

So no more AIM chat room for maybe a week or so. I need to have some me time and find entertainment that is more solitary or relaxing.
