[Private Entry] Weary Travellers

Kevin and I met Adam and Megabyte's flight yesterday evening. If I hadn't already been worried about those two, I am now.

Adam looked haggard, as if he hadn't had a decent night's sleep in over a week. Who knows, perhaps he hasn't what with Megabyte spending most of his days in a courthouse. Of course, he was also more than a little annoyed at Megabyte for his choice of flight, which he stated rather pointedly before just as pointedly not speaking to Megabyte for the rest of the evening.

Megabyte, on the other hand, didn't really seem worse the wear for the flight. Well, unless you count rattled nerves, but I could be wrong since my empathy isn't as strong as Kevin's is. But he looked... haunted. Oh, he tried to cover it up with a grin and a joke, but... the smile never quite reached his eyes and the laughter always fell slightly short of genuine.

Both of them were too thin, despite Megabyte's protests that he'd eaten regularly and made sure Adam ate (when he remembered to, anyway; honestly, those two are as bad as each other when it comes to their own health) so Kevin and I treated them to dinner. And I probably shouldn't have done this, but...

I rang General Damon at his office this morning. He hadn't been able to get away from work to meet the plane. No, I'm not condemning him, I know how busy he is and how important what he does is for people, the Tomorrow People in particular. But... his son needs him, whether or not he'll admit it, and knowing Megabyte it would be not. General Damon said he'd try to get out a few hours earlier than usual; I hope he does.

After all, Megabyte can't very well hope to plan Adam's surprise birthday party if he's worn out, can he?

Who am I kidding.

Best,
Zarah
