after a somewhat crazed week (turning into the norm for me again), i was able to enjoy a dinela dinner w/
sweetmelliemel and
shelbyg at world cafe in samo. the meal was not overwhelmingly fantastic, but it was good, and the company was great.
mel dropped us back at my car, and we headed to the nuart much earlier than expected, thus securing us 1st place in line for our 5th anniv of the midnight showing of clue there. the guy 2nd in line had been doing the show for 5 yrs as well. he baked cupcakes for the occasion and shared one with me which was fantastic. he and his crew ended up sitting behind us as well. name was dominique - good guy. we had lot of story swapping since he's a writer and had just done a film w/ david arquette.
hiko had joined us in line, and i wasn't able to get chris's attn to tell him we were up front too (my bad, it wasn't like there was a force field keeping me from getting off the wall). coleman arrived as we were let in, but they grabbed seats up front.
jonathan lynn and colleen camp were in attendance to intro the film and do a q&a afterward. that was a great treat to hear about the script issues, comedic timing of the cast, and lynn's lamenting about the movie being ahead of its time w/ the multiple endings.
highlights of the shadow cast include lucas attempting to fellate the lead pipe, the killer(s) using masks from all popular serial killers for each murder, the always funny stuffed watchdog, and blow-up doll of the singing telegram girl. gina and alex rocked mrs. white and wadsworth as always. it's a shame i missed last year, but i'm totally okay with missing harvest fest in order to get my clue on this year.
the rest of the weekend has been fantastically lazy with lots of movies, tv, and now football. it's much needed, and i'm not sure when we're going to have one of these again.
