every time i start talking about an actor from my childhood, my boss has a story which i find not only awesome but borderline disappointing. i have been destroying my own magic out here actor by actor as i meet them anyways (working on a pilot, thu told me recently that simon baker denny is an a-hole which is an unfortunate piece of news). i told my boss a few weeks ago how excited i was for iron man b/c it was jon favreau & robert downey jr, so he tells me how much of a drugged out prick downey was when he hung in the same crowds in ny (totally understandable).
today i am telling him how i realized this weekend as we're watching
one crazy summer that shia lebouf is channeling a young comic john cusack. he wonders when somebody will channel christian slater since, ya know, christian slater was channeling jack. i said i was looking forward to slater's pilot, so he tells me how in high school slater wasn't really that great of a guy running with a white trash crowd that always partied, etc etc. again, totally understandable considering that both downey and slater lived the fast life in hollywood and have been in and out of the clink for years. my boss, he knows the peeps.
so anyways, at least the only negative he had toward fisher stevens was that fisher got pfeiffer, his dream woman. oh, and was always picked over him when it came to roles, even though they were both third and fourth tier. other than that, fisher is a good guy.
speaking of downey, it's chaplin's birthday today. if he were still alive, he'd be 118. i am sure
thefreak enjoys this knowledge - coleman is jesus today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
also, my grandmother hasn't been doing so well lately, but my grandfather is taking care of her and the doc appts to find out what's going on as much as he can. i wish them a HAPPY 58TH ANNIVERSARY today.
