everything seems trivial...
...with the va tech incident today.
sharon had her baby girl last wednesday. her water broke a week early, and olivia marie was brought into the world near midnight on april 11th. sharon called me when she arrived home saturday to tell me the news. she says she looks a lot like her this time and so far has the same calm temperament that ally had.
today is a happy birthday to
thefreak!
it is also my grandparents 57th anniversary. wow!
saturday we arrived an hour late to griffith park to find
moremelessyou all by her lonesome. she had staked out a picnic table at 10am like her planned event, but we were all running late. rose showed up a little after we did, then
yo_adrienne1, then
halbe. jenn brought a dutch apple pie from house of pies which was incredibly tasty. she, malissa,
sweetmelliemel, and i left around 12:30pm to visit the la zoo. what a mess that turned out to be! we were stuck in a line for 20 minutes, and they only had one entrance to the zoo open which lines from both directions trying to get in. we bailed and hung out in a little park in glendale for about a half hour before mal left to visit friends, and mel & jenn came back to my place for some wii.
we ordered pizza and played for hours. jenn left around 6pm, and i left mel and kent bowling around 7pm. mel was breaking records left and right in rayman and wii sports. she called me as i was headed to
shelbyg's to tell me she scored 577 pins on the practice bowl. she called me sunday to tell me how badly her arms hurt from all the wii play.
i ate italian with shelby at la bottega before we played some wii and burnout revenge. we couldn't drag ourselves out of bed on sunday, so shelby bailed on open practice, and i visited dennis to sign my tax forms (yay, return!) before we ate lunch at little hong kong and napped too long. we rushed over to
oslowe and
noirbettie's for our planned dinner. i tried to wear a very tired sam out to no avail, but he sure did give my arms a workout. we gorged on an exceptionally lovely feast of lamb, chicken wings, hummus, tsatziki, pita, artichoke hearts w/ red peppers and onions, and potatoes, downing it all with 4v loco and gelfand cabyrah (plus the boys had some beer). ah, contentment! they also gave us this cute little easter basket full of goodies!
back at my apt, kent was heavy into his own taxes, and after putting a load of laundry into the wash, we ended the nite with a coupla jlu episodes. the morning came too soon, and now becomes a crazed three nights in a row of events.
the social butterfly has returned!
