donal logue overload
met the boyfriends friday nite for dinner and a movie. we couldn't use the passes for #23, so we settled for ghost rider. after watching an ad within an ad for an ad about an ad of an ad for 20 minutes, we got what we expected. absolutely as terrible as it looks. wes bentley has obviously become desperate for work. eva mendes was a waste of space, and nic cage, with his gaunt frame enlarging his lower lip, constantly reminded me of daniel craig, but man was that a washboard stomach he was sporting! reminds me i need to mention to aunt sue that another sam elliott movie is in the theatres - if she can endure all the crap for the 5 minutes of screen time he possesses. i'll tell her to wait for the rental so she can ffwd. donal logue was also in this flick, so that made two nites in a row of exposure. i don't mind him, but i mind his tv show, and that's made him less likeable.
had a burrito from red rock chili prior to the movie. it's impressive they can get away with an eatery in century city entirely devoted to chili and the ways you can use it. was a yummy burrito, but i want a bowl of bj's chili now.
saturday i caught the new world on hbo. um, yeah, i see why colin farrell has kind of disappeared. i didn't buy for a second the love story btwn the two of them and was tired of watching his furrowed brow never unfurl. the movie didn't truly come to life until the story of christian bale's character, john rolfe, and pocahantas hit the screen. definitely no badlands or thin red line. have this movie on in the background while you do other things like read a book or surf the net. sorry, terry.
sunday, the boys' bud, dave, came down to west la with his friend jay. they played wii and guitar hero II, and we strolled around the promenade and pier for a couple of hours. we ate some not so great italian up in brentwood before indulging in cheesecake factory for dessert which made up for all things.
lunch with michael today. lunch with heather tomorrow. dinner with matt on wed? so much for the social butterfly taking a break...gotta connect with a too for the exchange of disney dvds and girl scout cookies...
