weekenders
wii. a LOT of wii was played this weekend. and i LOVED it.
shelby brought downhill jam, cod3, and ultimate alliance over on friday. shelby kicked my bootay in the jam even after taking 20 minutes to complete the tutorial. we didn't get to the other two before bedtime, but so it goes with the console gaming.
we did, however, open the bottle of '05 gelfand zin since i had been RAVING about it for months after gelfand's mixing event. thu can attest i wanted to take the bottle of '05 zin back to la for shelby to try, and for a majority of the party after we were done creating our sfrs and menage a bunches, i walked around holding that bottle of zin. you can drink it like grape juice it's so damn good. shelby fell in love at first gulp, and we're planning on purchasing a case of it. if anybody wants in, let me know.
mel, in her chimichanga mixup, stopped by saturday afternoon. we watched little miss sunshine and shot and danced with bunnies. mel rocks the disco dancing. lms is a very cute movie, awesome cast, but by no means an oscar best picture. i do think it will grab screenplay though. after she left, i played more jam, modifying the skater & opening enough to be a "boarder" now. i tried cod3, but i just can't handle that intensity. i'll leave those games to the bro. i played alliance for a few minutes and discovered that once again, wolverine is my favorite, especially where the gameplay style of the wiimote is concerned. took a break and checked the emails.
after adding riz's wii to my system, i finished off the nite with another crack at bowling. finally after 5 tries, i successfully scored a personal best 220 and am only 8 points away from pro.

nivalieve, rose, rose's friends ashley & allison, molly, lisa, & cristina convened in my living room for an afternoon of mexican vittles and gameplay. we split into wii players and board game players for a majority of the afternoon. jenn and mel rocked the rabbid dancing for a while before halbe wanted to play tennis, then we bowled. dirty scrabble and dirty scattergories happened. apples to apples and cranium before saying goodbye.
