weekend review:
friday attempted to catch steveo at home. no luck. mia. received four emails from him this weekend. first in regards to my tat, he quipped he "banged a 20 yr old last weekend with a tattoo like that." in response to my request for my cd-rws returned to me, he "can do that. that i can do." then he sent me the syracuse networking meetings happening this week as well as a little one line "want to write on tuesday?" i was so appalled at the gall of that last one, i immediately responded (damn, it sux when i act before i think) "not until my money is in my hands." melanie and shelby both told me i shoulda said yes just to get into his apt. damn, it sux when i act before i think. regardless, i tried to salvage by typing a little oneliner this morning asking what time he was thinking b/c i might have an hour to spare. still need those cd-rws, regardless of his spineless tactics. grrr! i so don't like being so angry at someone, especially b/c it's mostly my fault.
headed home to grab the party favors i was contributing, including the dirt cake i made for shelby's bday, and then off to west la to help
cspariah and
shelbyg get their place party-fied for saturday. shelby finished putting together his futon frame and kent's desk that had been sitting in my living room for months. we walked to von's around 11pm for the usual amenities. packing a full cart and only two blocks away from the apartment, we attempted brief cart theft for convenience only to find that von's is sophisticated enough to have boots on their carts if they leave the premises. made sense. at the end of the drive, one wheel locked up, the yellow shell had come down. looking around us, we saw many other carts sitting at the edge of the von's perimeter, boots down rendering them useless. clever supermarket chain! being the weak little girl that i am, i lagged behind the boys with the bags i carried, but we made it back with all the goods intact.
saturday was the typical la party scene. 25 people answered the evite in the yes column only to have about half that actually show. and not only that, but also in typical la fashion, the party starting at 3pm didn't see its first guest til 4:15. so predictable, these angelenos! once the party started rocking though, it was a blast! shelby, alex, and i had started drinking at 3. by 7pm, i had to cut myself off b/c shelby was having entirely too much fun, and since it was his birthday party after all, who am i to tell him to stop enjoying his libations? while shelby kept mixing and matching his liquors, alex's best friend of the evening was maker's mark, and it was great seeing the two of them have so much fun. an excellent highlight of the evening other than my boyfriend becoming so drunk he couldn't remember answers to questions he had just asked was
noirbettie presenting me with the copy of ultraviolet that she and her husband are letting me borrow. i am quite ecstatic and can't wait to watch the tapes! thanks for furthering my vampire obsession;) it was great seeing everybody again. although it was only a week since we all last partied, hopefully it won't be months before we all see each other again (yet another la evil.)
around 8pm, most of the party left for another party, a party shelby and i were SUPPOSED to attend as well, but by the time everything calmed down, it was midnite, the boys were still incredibly sloshed, and my time of the month was screaming for anaprox which i had forgotten to grab from my place (yes, i know-- TMI--sorry.) so in compromise, we waited a little longer for alex to sober up enough to move his car before heading back to my place, along the way deciding food would be a grand idea since dinner consisted of hors d'oeurves and cake -- not appropriate for all the liquor consumption. in 'n out was packed but boy was it tasty at 1:30am. i feel bad that shelby missed phil sunday morn. i'll be more prepared next time.
sunday struggled with the "who to root for" in the afc championship. i watched it with 3 pats fans. kinda had to be one too although secretly i was with dan and matt in their search for steelers success. the steelers didn't seem to want it bad enough, though. maybe it'll take them a few more years like the eagles before they decide, "oh yeah, the SUPER BOWL." the pats are looking for a dynasty, and unless the eagles step up after the long wait, the patriots and brady will create even more football history. there are many cool aspects about this, but i'll leave it to the patriot fanatics to point those out if they haven't and aren't already, which many of them have and are. regardless, i'll be in the patriot corner come gameday. they are afc after all.;)
finally sat down shelby to watch cannibal the musical. kent had never seen it either. they seemed to enjoy it. i told them they'll enjoy the commentary more. watched the pilot for numb3rs - saw drew numerous times but no liz. many other extras i cast had a lot of screen time too. mick did well with the pilot, but he is the pilot king. i don't think it'll hold up on friday nites though in the old handler timeslot. it's a tuesday nite type of show, not a graveyard nite show.
traffic sucked this morning, but i still haven't heard from the bosses, so i don't think they'll care that i didn't make it in til 10. it's been very quiet though. i feel like i should be calling agents just to get the dp ball rolling. nah! they'll hound me again soon enough, then i won't be able to get rid of them. and i still need to get that badge...
