alfie = eh, jude law is hot and all, but playing the casanova/schmuck that he's now painted out to be in real life made me care less for his woes and more for the michael caine original i have yet to see. if you really REALLY want to see sienna miller's boobies, by all means, sit thru it for that, but i think you can get a pic of them faster and easier online.

se7en soul plane = much funnier than either shelby or i expected. can't beat pay lockers for overhead compartments and standing room only bus poles in c class...
crash (2005) = in my rainbow-colored world, crash only won the oscar b/c the other 4 cancelled each other out. would have been better with subtle stereotypical characters and situations (rather than the "in your face" anger, ignorance, and hostility) and more "message" which this may have thought it was doing but was far from doing it. i somewhat agree with shelby - it's a good movie, but not a great movie. it was definitely not oscar worthy compared to the other 4 noms. artistically out of the two, brokeback should have walked away with the gold man.
the manchurian candidate = quite a spin on the original. very now with the subject matter and how it relates to today's white house. denzel pulled in the denzel per usual, and i was happy to see kimberly do her role well. liev was phenom as always and meryl pulled off angela's role well although not entirely as menacing as ms. lansbury (or is it dame now?) - lots of underrated actors and sadly, lots of
24 actors.
we also caught most of
the upside of anger on hbo. while shelby couldn't get over the ages and placement of the girls, it was reaffirmed to me how great kevin costner is as an actor when he doesn't direct himself.
