Pregnancy woes and support!

Hey there Brisneylanders <3

I am at a pretty crucial point of my pregnancy where things need to be sorted (Just hit 20 weeks on Monday), and I'm really unhappy with the support I have been getting with my current GP. I was given very little to no information, and have had to learn all of the important stuff from books and online. (I'm the first of my friends AND current generation of family to have a wee one) I found out recently that my GP also put through my application to Mater Hospital incorrectly and by the time its corrected and approved it will likely be too late to apply for pre-natal classes through them.

So! A few questions, because I know there's a lot of parents out there.

1. Does anyone have a great GP they would recommend? I would prefer a female but it isn't super important. I would also love bulk billing but again if they're awesome I'm willing to pay! I don't mind where they're located as long as its probably within 30 minutes drive of the city.

2. When should I start seeing an Obstetrician? Is this something organised through the Mater Mothers Program or something I need to look into myself?

3. Anyone been through the new Mater Mothers program? What was your experience? Anything I should know about before going? Any important questions I should be asking?

4. If I do happen to miss out on the Mater-supplied pre-natal courses, are there any decent third party classes you suggest? I would really like to go through a course just so I have a more practical idea of how it will happen. I'm looking for somewhere that is quite open with their options and won't judge me on wanting to take painkillers :P

5. Finally, any good mother groups out there? Again I'm looking for a group that's a little more open and less judgemental, I'm not exactly the conventional yuppie mum :P Also something that would be open to dads coming along too.

Sorry for the million questions :)
