Damn I’m a fangirl

Ever since I got caught in the world of Fanfiction, I’ve known that being a fangirl was a dubious compliment. To me it implies that you are somewhat to young to be taken seriously and also that your comments are reduced to SQQEEEEEEEEEE or something with abbreviations I readily admit I do not get. So why do I feel this need to defend myself as a fangirl?

First of all I’m too old (34 years) and the mother of two. That kind of implies that I’m a grown up with sound interests. Secondly, I’m bright (and I hate false modesty) so I should probably have some very serious and clever interests like quantum physics, or poetry if I were the artistic kind (I promise you I would prefer quantum physics). However, that is not the case. When I get home from work and the kids are sleeping, nothing cheers me up like my favorite WIP being up-dated. I love to disappear into my little SSHG world.

So bollocks to it. I’m a fangirl!
