Two weeks into training for the halfmarathon, I can run three solid miles sans walkbreaks. This largely on the strength of a breathing technique taught to me by housemate/trainingbuddy, involving inhaling fast & exhaling very slowly. She recommended it for cramp management, but it has the added benefit of producing in me an euphoria comprising tunnelvision, less pressing but every bit as acute awareness of the pain in my muscles, and the semblance that all external data are somehow an extension of my head.
And here I thought I needed to have sex to get an endorphine kick.
