There is no possible way for me to catch up on everything that has happened since I've been here in Austria. So I'm just going to jump in, and if readers (ha, readers, who am I kidding) get confused, then that's unfortunate and maybe they should cry about it.

I've invented a new German verb. The word for shopping is 'kaufen.' Well today my friends and I went on a chocolate shopping expedition, and I made up a new verb for shopping, that can only be used in conjunction with the word 'schokolade.' This inspired piece of lexicon? 'Kaufening.' Ingenious, I know. 'Schokolade kaufening.' It's a glorious linguistic revolution. Just you wait. By the time I leave, Austrians will be throwing it down in daily conversation. They'll probably want to give me an award. I think it might even be Nobel Prize worthy.

On monday, as I was gimping home from the doctor in the freezing morning air (long story as to why I was there, I have a weird foot injury), I saw the Salzburg equivalent to meals on wheels. As I walked by one of the many beautiful stone apartment buildings in the surrounding area, a large van pulled up, with the manifesto 'HausEssen' emblazoned on the side. Curious, I stopped to see if anyone would get out. A woman popped out of the double door in back, with a huge cart on wheels. On top of the cart were steaming trays. They were covered, so I could only guess at their contents. But I'm fairly confident that those trays were full of 'essen.' I don't know why, but it just made me really happy that they have things like meals on wheels everywhere in the world. Well, at least in other relatively advanced nations. I don't know if they have meals on wheels in Abu Dabi. Or however you spell that country's name. It's the place that Garfield always tried to send Nermil. Wow that was a really weird digression.

I'm leaving for Paris in exactly one week. PARIS. AS IN VICTOR HUGO AND THE GUILLOTINE. I think I'll probably swoon before I even step off the bus.

I'm going to try and put some pictures in here, but I don't know if it will work. If you don't see any photographs, go to this website and enjoy.
