Yeronga - Room for Rent! Housemate Wanted!
Hey everyone!
I'm looking for a new housemate to move in to a semi self-contained room in a lovely area of Yeronga for $125pw. Available ASAP!
The room available is in the built-in downstairs area of the house. It has its own entrance through the garage at the back of the house and is very private. It's a huge space, and will happily fit a complement of bedroom and living room furniture so you can make it cosy and comfy. I will be frank and say the decor is pretty daggy and basic but you'd be welcome to redecorate within reason. It has its own bathroom (shower etc) and built-in wardrobe but the only toilet (and the kitchen for that matter) is upstairs via external stairs at the rear of the house. The room is partially subterranian too, which makes it cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter. Decent breezes come off the river. It's a quiet, peaceful area and my neighbours are mostly awesome. I've lived here for 6 and a half years and the current lease is valid til March 2008 when I plan to renew for another year.

The room available - the floor is carpeted now.
My previous housemate was happily esconced for two years and set up his own kitchenette area (toaster, kettle, electric hotplate etc.) and there is a fridge & microwave available downstairs too. Of course, I will gladly share the upstairs kitchen if that's how you wanna roll. The laundry is downstairs with a washing machine provided. There's also heaps of storage space.
The area is not particularly well serviced by public transport, although the 105/107 bus routes operate from the Brisbane Corso, which is only one street away. It's relatively close (just over 1km I think) to the Eleanor Schonell Bridge which goes across to UQ. I would definitely recommend having your own vehicle. No phone/internet/pay tv service is provided. There is a single phone point upstairs and I use dialup, so organising those services for yourself will be your responsibility. Electricity is shared and usually works out to be around $30-35 per person, per month, paid quarterly.
I would ideally like someone who's independant, reliable, respectful & considerate (as I am) and preferably a non-smoker. I have two cats and would prefer no more pets, thanks.
You'd be sharing with a female in her 30s who's easy-going, friendly and won't be in your face all the time.
