Ocean Avenue...

so as I stand here on the boardwalk at Asbury Park....I think back 9 years ago...9 fuckin years...when I first stepped foot here.
It really was one of the best weekends of my young life...and at this point, because I look back so fondly...I guess my whole life.
I'll never forget that first year.

Skate 04 was amazing as well, I don't wanna take away from it, returning here and experiencing it all over again with the same 3 friends...it was awesome.

early memories of Asbury.
I'll never forget them.

I remember coming to the Stone Pony for The Ataris...and just being here, not even during Skate, and yet still feeling just this some odd sense of magic...or happiness.

I love this place.

I'm now happy that Bamboozle has been at the Meadowlands these last 6 years.
I had fun at it the last 2 years...but a different kind of fun.
the fun of seeing select bands I love.
of selling merch and just bullshitting with everyone and anyone.
I really wish I ha done more to get into this line of work.
I wish I had toured.
I wish I had done it all.

being here reminds me of what it was like to still be in the crowd and just enjoy every second of these 3 days.
I don't feel that now though.
There were 3 bands I saw on Friday. 2 of which aren't really even bands anymore.
Armor For Sleep and TREOS.
The Wonder Years to close out my night was petty awesome though.

For the most part...I don't like alot of the band that are playing today.
alot of acts they have playing today, are terrible.
or just really not my style.
I'm gonna go with terrible.

I love this place.
I think bringing what Bamboozle has become, back to Asbury...was a bad idea.
If it's here again next year...I'm not gonna come.

there's still magic in this place. I felt it here in full force when I came here in December for Gaslight Anthem.
and that was in the winter.

I'm out in the sun and feeling a cool ocean breeze...
If I was staring here and not hearing this terrible music, and there weren't so many idiots here...I'd feel it.
I know I would.

I love you Asbury Park.
