It's Christmas Eve Day! Both an eve and a day...it's a Christmas miracle!!!
Those lines courtesy of the first season Christmas episode of "Bones". Other people watch Christmas movies, and while I did watch "The Lion in Winter" (old fashioned family fun) while decorating the tree and "Love Actually" ('cause it was on and Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, and Alan Rickman in one movie...slurp, drool!) while wrapping prezzies, my real treasured Christmas viewing is Christmas episodes of TV shows. John and I watched the Bones episode the other night, and tonight it will be the Christmas episode from the second season of "Roswell". And Charlie Brown Christmas which I have saved on the DVR.
I'm a little banged up today...last night I took a spectacular fall heading into my Alanon meeting (these treacherous 12 step programs!). Stupid, because as I was getting out of my car I saw one of my fellow meeting goers being aided to her feet by a guy from the AA-meeting-next-door and sure enough, when I got to exactly the same spot, down I went. Right leg well bruised, knees and back achey.
Christmas luncheon here at work today, and then we'll probably get turned out early. I'm nicely ready for the day (only shopping remaining is 12th Night gifts, not needed for two weeks), John and I may drive around looking at lights and get some dinner, or if the rain is just too nasty to think about we'll get some pizza. He still has my prezzies to wrap, I have Important Christmas Viewing and embroidery.
The important thing this year is that John is HOME and happy and 2008 will be his first full calendar year of sobriety. So I'm full of a lot of joy, gratitude, and love, and I wish everyone on my flist the same. For those who due to circumstance are not in such good places, I wish you the comfort of the holiday spirit and peace and happines in the year to come.
