Person at the Next Desk...Kudos!
Not a rant!!! It is true her lack of ethnic sensitivity and ability to believe and regurgitate conservative propaganda heard from her brother still annoy me...I rant here because it keeps me from bitching at her directly or about her to the rest of the office. Thank you, my captive audience.
But she's not a bad person. She has custody of her two grandkids (5 and 8) because of her daughter's addiction issues, and of her very troubled 14 year old nephew because of her brother's alcoholism. Last summer she made the decision to wean said nephew off a variety of medications that psychiatrists have been stuffing down him since he was 9. ( foodshrink, I bet you'd have had a field day with it...)
Yesterday, both he and 8-year-old granddaughter brought home excellent report cards, which she proudly showed me this morning. I'm genuinely happy for her...well done, PatND!!!
And at least she draws the line at believing the earth is 6000 years old. We laughed about that.
