day 16

Jun 08, 2008 22:37

I want to post more pictures but I have to finish my last two official lesson plans, and possibly make some work sheets and a powerpoint, I also need to do two loads of laundry.  So, once I finish the lesson plans and the work sheets/powerpoint (which had better be done by midnight, 12:20 latest) and get my loads in the laundry then I'll be back to try and post the pictures again.

As it is I just spent the last 5 hours in the class room working on stuff.  ;-p  But church was alright. I didn't like the guest speaker at all, for various reasons.  First off the man was really heavy handed and didn't meantion grace once in his sermon about irrevernce toward God and God's judgement and our need for repentance.  Also, shortly before he started preaching I beleive he said he hadn't had much time to prepare the sermon, but then it sounded like he procrastinated because he didn't know what God wanted him to preach about.  I beleive he used the second chapter of Revelations out of context, and he said tha confessing Christ meant nothing.  My sermon notes consisted of why  I dissagreed with is points and the bible verses to back that up.  I beleive he was too heavy handed and in his desire to make a point wrongly ignored other connecting and very important truths.  Many of his statements lead me to how much questions.  He also made this statement about how you couldn't just switch from the wide road to the narrow road. I think what he was trying to say was that you can't get to heaven through other gods but what it sounded like was that you have to clean yourself up first before you can follow God, which is wrong. I also think he blatantly ignored our ability as Christians, filled with the spirit, cleansed through Christ, to have intimacy with the three-times-holy God.

But, after the sermon (and the music was pretty good) I met more people and went to lunch with them and talked to them and that was great. THen this korean guy named Kevin (american name) who's attending Daejeon University and also the church helped me get home via bus, that was interesting. He lives quite close to me.

Yeah, that's about it.  Oh, yeah, Linnet and Lauren climbed the mountain for four hours and didn't reach the top. O.o dude.
