The Toaster Oven

Nov 30, 2005 23:31

I was amused that four people jumped to the conclusion that I had converted someone. It was, of course, my intent to make you all think that I had converted a certain JB. ;)

But no. I actually own a toaster oven now. One of my very own.

And do you know who gave it to me?

My mother.

One could, I suppose, think that this is her way of accepting my sexuality, although I don't think she's aware of all the toaster oven jokes in the lesbian community.

Instead, she gave it to me particularly for making mini-pizzas.

Regardless, I look at it as a trophy for my conversions over the years. Near as I can figure, I have helped at least 8 people come to terms with their queerness since 1994, in a variety of ways, including moving to a foreign country for them and being their wife for three and a half years.

Not bad, not bad. Wonder what'll happen if I hit 10, 15 or 20? ;)
