Preparations and Travel Thoughts

So, I head back to Boston in only three days...and onto Europe in four and a half. In these last few weeks the 17th has creeped up on me so fast. I've been doing a lot of preparations lately: visited five different doctors, bought clothes, bought travel supplies (passport case, backpack, sleep sheet, the works...), picked up plenty of Euros. Okay, I totally moved overseas for a year with only one suitcase and one backpack...but I've accumulated a lot of stuff and I have no idea how I'm going to get it all back.

I've actually heard really good things about Croatia--that's it's beautiful, fun, and relatively cheap. Italy's great, too, you should really go. Venice was fantastic, but it was really rainy in Rome when I was there. I didn't like Spain. It fell far short of my expectations (which is hardly fair of me, I know) and we had a really hard time navigating and communicating, even with at least 6 years of Spanish each. France was nice enough, and I'm glad I went, but it isn't someplace I really loved or particularly feel the need to go back to. I loved Switzerland, though. I spent two days in Bern and it was fantastic. I can't wait to go back! I also really loved Scotland, too.

So, yeah. That's about all I have to say about that. Study-abroad is really fun. You're going to have a great time. Just make sure you have copies of all your important papers and credit cards and such, so that if something does happen, you still have all the important info. And a money belt or one you wear around your neck--seriously. But I just got back from my month-long trip and nothing horrible happened. You'll be fine!

Only one suitcase for an entire year?! My goodness. And I'm gonna have enough trouble not completely filling up my two suitcases...

Yes, I definitely made sure to buy a nice little pouch that will hold my passport and money to go around my neck. It's even a nude colour so it won't show through my clothes. :)
