I'm leaving for the east coast on Tuesday. I stil don't actually have an itinerary past the first six days of the two week trip. Oh...that's because I haven't let people know I'm coming. That's a problem! I'm guessing my breeder will be fine with me staying with her for a week if worst comes to worst and we'll get all her dogs cleaned and brushed and Eri's weird elbow and mouth will get all sorted and I could probably even get his OFA films done at her vet. But I'm supposed to be visiting relatives. However, work must be dealt with and this is a very high activity time of year so the one is crowding out the other. I should have thought more carefully about the schedule it seems.
Did I mention that Brinny and I are headed to Livermore a couple weeks after Eri and I get back for a nosework trial? Fortunately, except for finding a place to stay and actually doing the driving, that's a very low stress trip. I know he can pass his NW1 title if I can find him an environment where he feels like he doesn't have to worry about the evil gun-shooters and I've been assured there is no shooting near the Livermore site. I probably should have just waited for the June trial in Sequim, but that can be backup #2. I love that there are options and that I am looking forward to traveling with him so much. I love my Brinny even though he's still my #1 butthead.
In other plans...
- Regional in southern California again over July 4th for Eri (both boys will come with)
- Regional at Argus at the end of July for Eri and maybe Rally for Eri and Wren if they can get their acts together - I'd really like them to be doing 100s in runthroughs though before they trial
- NADAC (Columbia Cup) Jumpers, Tunnelers and possibly Hoopers for Eri in September (may do other classes if he's ready but I don't want to do more than two classes a day with him at his first trial)
- get Eri into an agility class?
- find a CPE trial for fall
- WAG fall NADAC?
I think at this point I'll wait with Eri until January for AKC agility. That way all his scores from Novice on will count for the BCCA awards for 2012 *eg* AND we can get a couple trials in other venues in for practice first to help find out where we need to plug holes.
