Portland show, or video proof that I'm a BAD MOMMY...
...or at least that I torture my poor puppy regularly :-)

On Saturday I handled Bubbles as well. She showed her fuzzy little heart out for me (if I'm perfectly honest, better than she does for her professional handler) and took third in the huge open bitch class. Sadly, I'd used Scott's video camera to tape Brin doing nosework on Tuesday night and then some of my students at conformation class and I'd neglected to recharge the camera battery so Bubbles didn't get immortalized this year to prove that she can be something other than a complete bitch (see last year's video!) I thought it was very ironic that the handler wanted me to take her. I think it was her best outing all weekend - she showed with her head positioned correctly, on a loose lead, at the right pace, and moved out beautifully. I'd have put her up, but the judge was looking at teeth rather closely.
The judges went with the Open Dog and Open Bitch all weekend for the points so Eri didn't even get a look. He showed very well from my perspective: his ring behaviors didn't deteriorate from what I get in class except on Sunday on the highly nasty carpet at the group rings (can you say bait and bitch smell all weekend?) And even then, it wasn't as bad as Bubbles or Wren were last year (he's a month older than Wren was last year)
It was kind of sad not to have Wren there! I wasn't anticipating missing showing her. Weird. But she's spayed and I've taken her coat WAY down. I'll try to get pics this weekend. It's adorable.
