HAPPYFEST III
Yup, this is it, folks, the complete list of prompts for this year's Happyfest. The rules haven't changed from last year, the first of which is:
READ THE RULES BEFORE WRITING!
(there are notes about spoilers that I NEED you to read)
(
The rest are under here )
When he was younger, he used to sneak off to the shops and buy candy. Proper muggle candy, not the sort that hops away if you don’t eat it quickly enough. Sometimes he’d go to the cinema, that sort of thing.
But the past few years, all of those stopped being that important. Once Sirius died, Harry always wanted to get away for the day.
So he did. He took the trains, and he never stopped. A few times a week he would leave. The Dursleys didn’t care where he went; in fact, they were probably happy to be rid of them for the day. Sometimes he’d even stay out for the night. He rode into London, mostly. The Underground was his favorite. So many places to go, but he never went to them. No, instead, Harry sat on the train all day long, watching.
Men and women of all ages headed into work. Some reading books, some glued to their mobiles, some staring blankly into space. A young mother scrambling to keep her two small children in line on the way to a museum. An older couple on their way to an evening dinner. Students with a bit too much beer in their stomachs stumbling home from bars. A homeless man who found a pass and used it for shelter from the rain and the cold.
None of them knew who Voldemort was. None of them had to worry about their friends dying left and right every day. None of them had to wonder about the things Harry did.
That’s why he liked it. It was normal, perfectly normal. With the death of Dumbledore and weeks left to stay at the Dursleys, he needed normal. Normal kept him sane.
While he was on that train, he could pretend he was like them. He was normal. No magic, no owls, no Daily Prophet containing the death toll of the day. Here, Harry was just a normal teenager on a normal train leading a normal life.
And for those few moments a day, as the weight of the world was lifted from his shoulders, Harry Potter had a chance to breathe.

But this was great, even if I haven't seen the movie yet. I can see Harry doing something like that.

It's hardly entirely movieverse because this could clearly have happened in the book universe, but he does make a mention of liking to ride trains in the movie.
Thanks. :)
