Bring NEWS to ASIA Project

Introduction:
Years by years, I wish for a NEWS Asia Tour. I repeat it again and again, in every celebration days (NEWS’ members’ birthdays, members’ anniversary, group’s anniversary, New Year and Lunar new year, etc…) And, I know that not only me but many fans around Asia would do the same. But a wish is just a wish, only God can hear us, our boys seem like they don’t! (Or maybe they do but Johnny-san doesn’t, or pretends not to!) However, after I watch Utsukon DVD - NEWS’ latest DVD release - I realize how much they love their fans; how much they enjoy doing projects with fans. They follow their fans everywhere, every time; they care about their fans’ feeling and always try to make the fans happy. Therefore, I think that, instead of wishing, hoping and praying to God like every year, why don’t we start a project for the sake of Asia fans, to be able meet our dream boys. At least, we can move them, to let them know how much Asia fans need them to come here, to get a proof and show Johnny-san our support/love toward them, so that Johnny-san will think about an Asia Tour for NEWS.
The Goal of this Project:
- Show NEWS Asia fans’ feelings toward them (support, encouragement, love…)
- Let them know how much Asia fans need to see them, to yell out their name and to sing along with them in concerts.
- To move them (also Johnny-san), make them think about having a concert outside of Japan, AN ASIA TOUR <- THE MAIN GOAL
Who can participate?
Anyone who loves NEWS, who wants to meet them in real life, who has been waiting for them to go around Asia for so long time, who doesn’t have (or rarely has) the ability to come to Japan for their concert but it’s easier for you to go around Asia, who wants to enjoy their concert like many shows but can hardly stay long in Japan. In conclusion, this project is for anyone feels like you want to participate.
Main theme of the project:
This time, the main theme of the project will be “Celebrate with us! 一緒にお祝いしましょう!” we are trying to invite NEWS to come join us, the Asian fans and fans all around the world, in a festive celebration of their 10th anniversary and in the means of an Asia tour!
The time:
From February 9th, 2013 to March 9th, 2013
How this Project can be done?
- Trending:
Stay together at our desktops/laptops/phones/ipods… and spam Twitter non-stop with hashtag #BringNEWStoAsia. In our opinion, weekend is most convenient for all of us but if we only do it for a couple of days, perhaps it’s hard to get their attention. Therefore, we hope you could join the trending every weekend from 9:00pm to 11:59pm JST during the date range of this project. (From February 9th, 2013 to March 9th, 2013). During the trending, we can talk/ chat about how much we love NEWS, let them know we want an ASIA TOUR, and direct them to our main Facebook page.
- “Celebrate with us!” clip:
Record yourself (or with friends) a short clip to show your feelings toward NEWS and how much you would love to attend their Asia Tour concerts. It should be as short as possible (15 seconds max); the idea is like the last time we did the project to encourage them.
Alternatively, you can also just send in a photo of you holding a message board for NEWS, and an audio recording of your message!
Ideas on what to do:
- Hold a board that says “I want NEWS Asia Tour”, “I support NEWS 4!”, “I want to meet NEWS!” or just your feelings or any messages for them. Write “Celebrate your 10th year with us!” in Japanese.
- Say something short such as “NEWS we love you and want to see you here” “I have been a fan for (…) years but I never had a chance to see a NEWS concert! Please do an Asia tour this year!” etc…
You can do whatever you want in your own style, talk in your mother language (if you don’t feel confident speaking in English or Japanese) but please send us an English translation so we can sub it correctly.
The more creative, the more opportunity your clip/ your message photo will appear in the main clip. But, please note that you shouldn’t put any background music because we will do that after collecting and join all the clips into one!
At the end of the clip/ audio recording, please say “Celebrate with us!” in English, Japanese or your own language!
The video clip will be subbed in English and Japanese, uploaded to Youtube (then maybe we can spam Shige and Massu’s mail with the link!) Also, we will burn it into a CD and our friends in Japan will send it directly to Kei-mama!
NOTE: Because we can only put a limited number of clips into the video, group photos or group video clips are highly recommended! Please check to see if you can record your video message together with friends in your area. If not, we can also accept personal submissions! ^^
- “Congratulations on your 10th year!” Photo/ Message Notebook:
Using a 9cm x 6cm sized or smaller piece(s) of paper, please write a message to NEWS (in English or Japanese) to show how much you love them, to congratulate them on their 10th year, to show how much you wish them an even more successful career from now on, how much you would love to see them in an ASIA TOUR, etc… Simply put, please take this opportunity to show your ♥ love ♥ to NEWS! This book can be regarded as a souvenir/gift/present from the entire international fandom to NEWS! Feel free to decorate your paper as you wish! Then, please send via post office:
- Your message paper(s), including your name(s), the country you are from, and your contact information.
- (Optional) The line “Celebrate your 10th year with us” written in Japanese, English, or your own language at the end of the message.
- (Optional) A photo or photos of you in 9cm x 6cm size, taken alone or with your fellow fangirls.
to the addresses stated below. You can also scan your paper work and email us. We can help print it out here for you! All of your papers will be collected and put together in a (big) notebook. This book will be sent to Kei-mama together with the“Celebrate with us!” clip, so that it would be able to reach Kei-chan!
Ideas on what to write:
- Your messages for NEWS. Words of love, encouragement etc. such as: “I support NEWS!” “I wish NEWS a successful year ahead!” “Kei-chan is so handsome. Please keep it up!” (lol)
- “Congratulations on your 10th anniversary! Celebrate this milestone with us! We are waiting for you across Asia!”
Since it will be collected ALL and sent to Kei-chan, please show off your feeling, your love or even yourself (lol) as much as possible. The more message papers and photos we receive, the better! Write more about your love, then hint lightly about the ASIA TOUR!

Guidelines:
For the clip:
- Your clip should be in AVI format. MP4 is okay, but AVI is highly recommended. It should be around 10 seconds or 15 seconds maximum ^^
- Please do NOT put any background music because we will do that when we edit the final video.
- If your audio turns out to be noisy, you can record the audio and send it to us separately from the video. We will edit it into the video. In this case, the audio should be in MP3 format.
For the book:
- Your message papers can be in many sizes but should be 9cm x 6cm max. Feel free to decorate your message paper as you wish.
- Your photos can be in many sizes but should be 9cm x 6cm max. Send as many as you would like!
Deadlines/ Mailing addresses:
ALL materials (for the video clip and the book) must be received by SATURDAY, MARCH 9th, 2013.

- Photos and paper messages via the post office MUST be postmarked by SATURDAY, MARCH 2nd, 2013. Although the project lasts until March 9th, 2013, we are unable to accept any materials postmarked AFTER March 2nd, 2013! Please note that it takes at least 2 weeks by airmail for us to receive the materials, so please time yourself accordingly! ^^ Please send your materials, including your name, the country you are from, and your contact information, to one of the following addresses:

What can you do?
- Join us! Send in your videos, photos, messages, inputs for the notebook. Join the trending! Remember the deadlines and our guidelines above! Like and share our fanpage on Facebook at www.facebook.com/bringnewstoasia.project .
- Spread the word! Share this project with your friends via Facebook, Twitter (hashtag #BringNEWStoAsia), LiveJournal, Weibo, phones or fan meetings etc. Share with your fellow international fans and Japanese fans too! The more fans know about and participate in this project, the more we can let NEWS know how many fans are waiting for them!
- Create a trend! Set the logo of #BringNEWStoAsia as your profile photo on your social network sites (Facebook, Twitter, LiveJournal etc.) On Facebook, please set “Bring NEWS to Asia” FB page’s cover as your own cover photo.

Final words
We hope, at least, all Asian fans can join this project with all 3 options above, but if you do not have enough time to do so, please at least do the last option (#3) so that we can make a BIG book to impress Kei-chan.
As we said, this is not only for Asian fans. If you’re not Asian, you’re not living in Asia, but it’s easier for you to go to other parts of Asia than Japan, then, please join this too! Even if you can freely go to Japan as much as you want but you still want to watch more of their shows, please join this project as well.
We cannot guarantee this project will bring us a NEWS Asia Tour. However, action always speaks louder than silent wishing/hoping or praying. At least we can let them know about our feelings, our love, and our encouragement. Together, they’re creating miracles. So, together, their fans can absolutely create miracles too!
