I seriously need to do a rewatch of Heroes myself. I haven't actually watched an episode since the finale, and that's...a long time for me. XD Anyway, I've been feeling somewhat less confident in my Sylar, so another straight-through rewatch may be in order. Of course, I still need to collect season 3 first, because I have no monies, but seasons 1 and 2 will take long enough. >_>
I do know how it goes, though, having a character you've played forever just completely die on you like that. It generally comes back, sometimes at a completely random point in time, but still. :P Anyway, a rewatch would probably help, and maybe interaction with sylar this weekend will help kickstart it, too. I'm really glad to hear you're clinging to him, though, because when you do manage to get him out, he's amazing.
I also gotta say I feel you with the whole "No, my character's totally lying, but I don't want to put notes up about it everywhere" thing. It's a pain in the ass. :/ I generally deal with that by just...not mentioning anything and then springing it on people later, but that's kinda a jerk move (although I personally like being surprised like this from other characters), and it can also come back to bite me occasionally. So...sadly no solution, but I get where that sort of thing's coming from, at least.
Oz is great and I think you should play him as he would be, even if he comes off as seeming like a little more of a jerk than he otherwise would to Tara. This could just be because my favorite character on Buffy was Tara and I just...I shouldn't even get started, but yes, I agree on the terrible. So I don't know, maybe tone it down a bit? But when there's such a dissonance, I don't think you should have to let it pull you towards an ooc reaction, as far as your own character goes. I know it's thin ice, it just seems obnoxious. :/
Eric is badass and Hoyt is adorable. Sorry Sylar won't be there to let him in to work on the shop, I totally forgot about the prison thing there. XD
And I think that's far more run-on sentences than I really needed to stick in there, so I will stop now. <3s for your characters, though.
