So I don't know if this is news to anyone else - maybe I'm just a loserface catching up late on this kind of thing - but wow, the John Butler Trio have some really pretty music. It's kind of like if you took the Dave Matthews Band and stripped out all the suck. And got rid of the waste-of-space frat-boy fanbase. And made the driving impetus a 12-string guitar instead of... um... God, I can't even tell what makes that band go, anyway. Weed? Money? Something green and stinky.
The John Butler Trio are not, to the best of my knowledge, green (but they look like hippies, so they might be stinky).
EDIT: Their instrumental stuff is really pretty. The other stuff is... well, disappointingly reminiscent of DMB. Especially the new album, apparently.
