Begging your pardon, my Southern is showing....
You know what? I've decided being Southern is freakin' awesome! *G*
Today, I worked out in the vegetable garden in the morning, went to the Spa for a facial in the afternoon, and finished up the day out at the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) gun range doing a little shotgun target practice with MahSweetie.
And I didn't think I did anything unusual today.
I have absolutely no clue how ordinary/extrordinary this sort of a day may be to anyone else, but I throughly enjoyed it. I feel like I have the best of two worlds right now. I live in a moderately big city (for the South) where I can enjoy a whole host of sophisticated entertainments (chamber orchestra, jazz, ballet, broadway plays, etc, etc) but I'm rural enough to also enjoy a whole gamut of country fun as well (gardening, making my own pickles, shooting clays at the range, camping out, fishing, etc).
I'm know I'm not the only one this is true for, I expect most people enjoy a wide assortment of things, but it struck me the other day that I'm really lucky to be in a location that gives me easy access to so many of them at a moments notice. Having the opportunity to go out to my Aunt's farm and shuck a couple bushels of corn in the morning and then go see a broadway company perform that evening boggles me sometimes.
