I had a sleep study done last night to figure out how my sleep is going. My sleep therapist is going to think i'm lieing to him because I didn't sleep walk or talk or anything! Apparently I was completely still and calm. The sleep technicians told me i was a real party pooper last night. Talk about a bizzare experience. I showed up at the sleep center around 8:30 and they came to my room around 9 PM to get me hooked up. They had electrodes all over my body! They had ones on my legs to measure my leg movement. They had ones on my chest to keep track of my heart and lungs. I had bands strung across my belly botton and chest to measure my breathing. Next they put 6 electrodes on my scalp to measure my brain activity and there were 6 electrodes on my face to measure my facial movement. It was so weird to lay in the bed and know that another person knows exactly what you are doing. LOL Throughout the night they kept buzzing me when i was in a lighter sleep and ask me to sleep on my back. But the 4 times they asked me to do it, yielded no results. i would sit for a while and try to sleep...I even tried the trick where you try to keep your eyes open as wide as you can..but that didn't work...so I just rolled over on my side and went back to sleep. LOL Guess that should be a clue that they don't need to know what i'm like on my back because i don't sleep on my back.
I feel like a blob of jello today. i feel tired, yet oddly at peace. it's very weird. it's difficult to describe. I am just here. I just realized...I don't feel stressed. Normally I'm walking around freaking out about stuff...but for some reason I feel calm. I feel like Peter in Office Space when he saw the hypnotherapist. So i guess this means I did have restful sleep last night. Why was it restful? what was different from normal sleep (other than the massive electrodes on my body and how does THAT contribute to good sleep??) hmmm
